Record signing striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has defended the amount of criticisms that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger receives.
According to Aubameyang, Wenger, who has come under intense pressure this season, does not deserve the condemnation as he called it ‘sometimes a bit unfair.’
“Sometimes I think it’s a bit unfair. We’re playing better in these last games and I hope the people can see this.” The 28-year-old Gabon star forward stated
As of the moment, the Gunners have six-game winning streak in all competitions but they are on the verge of missing out the Champions League for second consecutive season, given the fact that they are 13 points adrift of the top four in the Premier League.
In addition, they only have six games left in the English top flight this season.
Meanwhile, Aubameyang, who has six goals in his opening seven games for Arsenal, also addressed that he wants to play and start alongside with Alexandre Lacazette despite of being enemies once during their time in France.
“I hope we will have the opportunity to play together – it’s something I said when I first arrived that I hoped to play with him. We have different styles, but I think they’re styles that complement each other – he’s a very good player and a very kind person. We were once rivals in our days in France, but we’re now friends and I hope we can play well together and score lots of goals.” Aubameyang added
