Following his brilliant performance with Liverpool, Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been voted to win the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Player of the Year for the 2017/18 season.
So far, Salah have been the standout players with a phenomenal 41 goals tallied in 46 appearances for his club in all competitions to secure the votes from the 92 Premier League and Football League clubs at Grosvenor House in central London. The 25-year-old striker, who enjoyed his superb and stunning debut this season, is the first Egyptian to take home the award by beating Manchester City’s title-winners Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva, Leroy Sane, as well as Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea and Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane.
“It’s a big honor. I feel great. I work hard and I’m very happy to win it. Hopefully I’m not the last one! My personal thing is to win something with the team. I always think about the team, I don’t think about myself, so the most important thing for me is to win something with the team.
