Napoli appointed Carlo Ancelotti as manager to replace Maurizio Sarri

It’s now confirmed and official! S.S.C. Napoli has been delighted to welcome Carlo Ancelotti as the club’s head coach at the Stadio San Paolo.

The Italian coach, who also managed AC Milan, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus, reportedly agreed on a salary of €6 million (£5.27m) per season.

“I’m really happy and honoured to be the coach of a team of such a unique city with incredible fans,” Ancelotti stated in a tweet released on the club’s account

Meanwhile, Sarri guided Napoli to a second place finish in Serie A this 2017/18 season with 91 points behind Juventus and his achievement with his former club thanked recently by Azzuri president Aurelio De Laurentiis.

Currently, Sarri has been linked with a move to Zenit St. Petersburg and to a Premier League club Chelsea in order to replace Antonio Conte.

Moving forward, Ancelotti hinted that he wants the Real Madrid star Karim Benzema as his No.9 to lead the Napoli club together with Chelsea’s David Luiz and Bayern Munich’s Arturo Vidal, which could propel the club’s ambition towards their first Serie A title in 29 years.
