The journey of the former Michigan Shooting guard in the NBA is quite impressive. As a rookie for a post-Kevin Durant Golden State Warriors, who also suffered a defeat over the Toronto Raptors in the 2019 NBA Finals, Poole averaged 8.5 points in a limited playing time, shooting 33%. His second season improved as he made a noticeable lift as he averaged 12.0 points per game on 43% shooting. Last season, he made another significant improvement and helped the Golden State Warriors to be back in Championship form and once again won the NBA title. He averaged 18.5 points on 44.8 field goal percentage and 4.0 assists a game.

On the other hand, Andrew Wiggins had a redemption career with the Golden State Warriors as he became the core piece for Warriors’ title run. The Canadian forward averaged 17.2 points per game, 4.5 rebounds, 2,2 assists, and 1 steal. He was also selected as an All-Star for the first time throughout his eight year career and fulfilled the expectation and hype that surrounded him since he was drafted as a No.1 overall pick of the 2014 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

He also made his defining moment at the 2022 NBA playoffs as he continued his increasing output to give Warriors a huge edge throughout the 2022 playoff campaign. He averaged 16.5 points and 7.5 rebounds to sail the Warriors to a fourth NBA title in an eight years span.

Former Golden State and Santa Cruz Warriors Guard Jeremy Lin who had shared a significant time with Poole in the G-League shared his congratulatory message for his former colleague on instagram.

“Woke up to great news! I don’t normally comment on contracts, but this ones different,’ Lin wrote. “I went from scrimmaging against @jordan_poole in private Bay Area runs to becoming G-League teammates to seeing him win a championship to a contract extension. Adversity and “demolitions” like the G-League reveal someone’s character. It’s not just bc (because) I saw JP beast the G-League. It’s bc (because) I saw him do it with a pure love of the game AND a genuine selflessness to root for his teammates that’s compelling me to write this post. A hard-earned much deserved new deal.“

Golden State Warriors has always been known for developing and establishing a player’s career. A great organization in shaping players’ career in an NBA culture, Poole and Wiggins are the living evidence of that. They will be in the league for a long  run.
